Tundra Arms League

Description

What is it?

Tundra Arms League (TAL) is the foundry event in tournament form. From start to finish, this event takes 18 days. Alliances can register to play and the top 64 legions, by power, for each zone are then qualified to play during the two week event. Members of a legion do not need to be from the same alliance, they can be anyone from the server. So states can work together in a state alliance or help a specific alliance to win the tournament.

This is an elimination style tournament, so as long as your legion keeps winning you keep playing but once you lose your legion is out. If your legion makes it beyond Thursday at 23:59 UTC, you will not be able to play the regular foundry event for that week.

Objective

  • Any r5 or r4 needs to select the top three times of preference for event battles. Options include: 2 UTC, 7 UTC, 12 UTC, 14 UTC, 19 UTC.

  • Compile a strong team of 50 players (30 joiners, 20 substitutes) to be registered to compete. They must be in the alliance and selected in either joiner or substitute role by registration deadline. Once registered, players can hop freely in and out of the alliance they are playing in as long as they are in their battle alliance at the time of battle. Each alliance can submit up to two legions.
  • The top 64 legions in a zone will then be split and matched into four groups of 16.
  • Once groups have been determined and the first round of matches set, predictions can start being made.
  • Every round lasts two days; the first day is for predictions, the second day is for battles. The group elimination phase consists of four rounds of matches followed by another four matches in the championship round to determine that zone’s champion for the season.

  • In the championship round, the four zone winners are ranked by total net points earned (net points meaning your legion’s points subtracted by your opponent’s points) across all matches in the elimination phase. So it is important to ensure your legion puts up as many points as possible because even if you don’t make it through the elimination phase, your total net points helps to determine your final ranking for legion ranking rewards.
  • The four champions round participants are divided into two groups. The top two are matched in the first round in the gold group, while the bottom two are matched in the silver group. The winner of the gold group directly advances to the finals. The loser of the gold group advances to the semi-finals and has a second chance of making the finals by beating the winner of the silver group. The loser of the silver group is eliminated and ends up in fourth place.

Predicting Matches

Similar to Frost Dragon Tyrant, there are daily tasks in which all players can earn two kinds of tickets which can be used to bet on matches in both rounds. Match stakes (purple tickets) are used to bet on all matches in every round and champion stakes (gold tickets) are used to bet on which legion you think will become champion of the zone for that season.

These match and champion stakes can be used in the ordinary shop and champion shop, respectively.

The most notable items within these shops are the ever elusive mithril in the ordinary shops and the teleport skin and non-champion event island building in the champion shop. Please note that TAL island buildings cannot be upgraded with island general shards. You need to collect the actual pieces to level them.

Rewards

Rewards from TAL come in many forms. There are the leaderboard rewards for both legion and alliance ranking, and individual combat participation rewards. Alliance ranking and individual combat participation rewards are comprised of match and champion stakes, arsenal (foundry) coins, mythic hero general shards and speedups of varying amounts dependent on one’s ranking.

The legion ranking rewards include 30 day march skins, island buildings, champion stakes, arsenal (foundry) coins, mithril, fire crystal, mythic hero general shards. Please note the march skins and island buildings are only for the top four legions and furthermore, the first place legion’s march differs from second, third and fourth place’s march AND the first place legion gets an additional island building.

First place only legion march and island buildings (all three stages shown):

Additionally, the top four alliances in each zone (i.e. the winners of each group within a zone) earns several alliance rewards including: a new alliance banner that is purple, a crossed cannons logo, and a the TAL alliance statue.

For the winning alliance in a zone, they get even more alliance rewards: a second alliance banner that is orange, a tank logo, their TAL alliance statue gets upgraded, and an alliance HQ skin.

There are two sets of packs that are available during this event: the Tundra Arms Pack found on the packs page and the Tundra Hero Pack found on the TAL event page. The Tundra Arms Packs features gems, teleports, march speeds, march recalls, assorted 20% buffs, and healing speeds.
